GOODBYE,

@ 12:15 PM by jessica
Life gets scary. I hate growing up knowing that the people around me are growing older as well. It's always hard to say goodbye in a way especially when it's not just a verbal goodbye.

Recently, the pastor at my local (West Sacramento) church passed away. Last time I went to the church there, I was crying in church-- so my sister and me left. My sister still goes there while I have kept myself away because of the last thoughts I had in the church as tears ran down my face. I know my sister loved him as the pastor because he related the bible readings to real life situations. My sister told me that he would know if you have been to Sunday mass lately or not because it's a really small local church. God bless him and serving his life to God. Rest in Peace.

Today, I found out my uncle just passed away last night. I wasn't really close to him but he'd always be around when I went to my grandma's house. I remember when my siblings and I were young, we'd always try to go into his room to play video games, heh or he'd let us. As we got older, things change. I've always remembered him collecting a lot of toys and displayed them in his room, had a lot of comic books that were still in mint condition. I wish I could've known him better but he was kind of a stranger [yet still my uncle] in my grandma's house. It was always nice to see his black books on my grandma's dining table, I'd secretly look inside them-- and in there were his amazing drawings. From what my mom told me, he passed away because of high blood pressure, and something happened when he was doing his job-- a photographer. He is one of those people that lived doing what he loved to do. Black books, comic books, toys, video games, and photography-- he loved. Rest in Peace, Uncle Oliver.

My favorite photograph he did that's still public on his MySpace, it's really old though (2005-2006). There's other pictures that he took were better but I like the comic book background. And I think he used his own comic books to do this photo, too.

On his myspace, it says. .

Reasons why you won't work with me (him)
1. I've got no money.
2. I'm not famous.
3. Girls acting sexy make me blush.
4. I won't shoot you in a room covered in comic books. (I think he's referring to the picture above, lol.)
5. I am neither glamorous, nor fashionable.
6. I don't have an expensive camera.
7. Working with me won't get you anywhere.

Reasons you will work with me (him)
1. Imagination rules the world.

Happy Easter Sunday, everyone!

This pic was taken at his friends house ... the comic book wall slowly evolved into one small patch and grew over a few months. It's gone now because they rented out the room.
