DICTIONARY,

@ 9:15 PM by jessica

dictionary |ˈdik sh əˌnerē| (abbr.: dict.)noun ( pl. -aries)a book that lists the words of a language in alphabetical order and gives their meaning, or thatgives the equivalent words in a different language.

I don't think a lot of people care for the dictionary, or even use it often as I do but the dictionary was always an essential for me. Although, I never liked or thought about carrying around a dictionary with me because it takes too much space and I feel that it is annoying to take it out all the time and look through pages. I have always wanted an electric dictionary because it is so convenient and compact, the cover and pages of a dictionary in a form of a book would easily get bent. I never got an electric dictionary but I think I have asked my mom for one but she always said we already have dictionaries so why do I need one just because it's electronic? Now that I have a MacBook and iPhone, the dictionary is an essential application in both cases. I always find myself using it when I don't know what a word is or if I know a word but feel as if my definition isn't quite precise. I believe that it is one of the greatest things someone could invent. Although, it isn't only in a form of a book anymore-- still great.
