I'm proud to say that although Harry Potter won second place for the top grossed movie in 2009 with 302 million in the States, it won first for worldwide as it grossed 929.4 million (That's almost a billion, crazy!)
I think the statistics are inaccurate though because Avatar just came out recently and it's already grossed 200 million, whilst Transformers and Harry Potter came out in the Summer. Avatar shouldn't even be counted in 2009 top grossed movies as it is going to still proceed in theaters in 2010.
I'm just happy to say that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince beat The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Wizards beats sparkly vampires any day. And I predict that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I will also beat The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, next year. As Eclipse comes out in June and Deathly Hallows in November 2010. I'm ready!
