In a formspring question, someone asked me why do I always claim that I liked/own/knew something before anyone. But I honestly don't remember being like that in any of my blog posts. I'm not going to lie, if you read my answer to that question.. then you already know. But I know I'm like that not only sometimes, but most of the times. And honestly, the only people that know me like that are people I know personally. I would not go claiming stuff on my blog. But anyway, my sister shared me this one girl's thoughts about this situation and I couldn't have said it better myself. She speaks the truth, it's like the things I'm thinking and cannot say or put into words, but this girl has. Enjoy.
"What bothers me the most is when one of your friends act so fake at times without even noticing it. It's understandable that you wanna be 'down' or fit in with your friends, but don't jock what's rightfully theirs. Don't decide to be all 'down' now and act like you've been doing it your whole life. Don't take someone's passion/hobby and turn it into yours. Have some respect for what they've discovered on their own. I'm not saying I'm tryin' to be selfish with certain things, but if you're gonna say you like something or end up making it your hobby, at least give em props for introducing you to whatever it is. Just because you have the scrill to afford certain things doesn't mean shit. Money don't mean shit, if it doesn't come from the heart. You're basically putting it up for display and saying 'Look at me, I'm cool.' Advertising something you don't know diddly squat about. Don't even try to front that shit, we all see how fake you really are. Online you may seem like you've been doing it for years, when in reality you're just a newbie. Stay true to who you are, not someone you want to be. " via amodalsoul
