Instead of studying, I figured that I should knock out some of my upcoming blog posts since I will be gone for at least a week since I have three midterms this week and another the next week.. so I might be gone for even longer. Just to keep my readers occupied, I will post for today.
If you follow me on Twitter, you know that two weeks ago, I was going crazy looking for these VansxHellz collaboration shoes. I was super sad that they didn't make any size 5W or 5.5W so I had to settle for 6W sizes for both. The Hadley's fit perfectly when I wear socks, but the Sophie's look a half size too big for me but I think I can still pull them off, maybe? Both shoes are a part of Van's new silhouettes.
Hadley's ($85)
Out of the two, the Hadley's are my favorite. There is so much detail going on this shoe, it's amazing. On the front of the midsole, it has "A Crime For All Seasons" engraved into it which is Hellz Bellz' saying. The back of the midsole says Hellz and has two studs on each side of the Hellz. Even the loop holes says Hellz on it, pretty dope and detailed if you asked me. I'm not actually sure how the shoe laces are suppose to be tied since it's leather but I will find a way. Even eye hooks are traded for the regular shoe lace loop holes. The tag on the tongue and inside the shoe are crafted beautifully. And look at the zipper detail, which resides on both sides of each shoe. An all around amazing shoe.
Sophie's ($65)
The Sophie's seem like they don't get enough love as the Hadley's do. They cannot be compared, as they are both completely two different silhouettes but I love this shoe as much as the Hadleys, maybe just a little less that the Hadley's but they still get my love. The silver strap really makes it look better because I actually took off the strap and it didn't look as great with it on. Their are several diecuts all over the shoe, which wont be on any of the Sophie silhouettes that Vans will be producing so these are real special. It also comes with leather laces but thinner than the ones on the Hadley's. I think of this shoes as more dressy than the other. They are different from your ordinary Vans.
Jonathan got me the Sophie's for Valentine's as I got the Hadley's for myself. I was able to get free shipping on my Hadley's to my house since I called and they gave it to me for free shipping since I paid $84.95, which was 5 cents away from free shipping. I was supposed to receive them on Monday (2/15) but they ended up getting misloaded so I had to wait an extra four days to get them (2/19). My Sophie's came on Tuesday (2/16), so I was happy that one of them got to my safely and on the actual scheduled delivery date.
My nails started to chip, so I thought I'd do my nails. And I got inspired by the Sophie's. I didn't get to take a picture of them with my D40 but you can find them on my Twitpic here, and here. Jonathan also found me the Nylon magazine that they were featured in that I tweeted, too. I swear, it was sold out when Jonathan came to visit me when we went to Barnes&Noble, and he ended up finding it in San Francisco which was the last copy on the stands too, whewww! It came with a free shirt as well.
fin.
